Located at an on/off ramp along CA-60, the Riverside Car Wash and Retail Center is an in-fill project in an existing retail area along Roubidoux Boulevard. Its prominent location on the Boulevard helps anchor the retail center as an important destination.

The planting design gives the site structure and reinforces wayfinding and circulation. The palette consists primarily of low water use plants adapted to the hot, arid climate. Rows of Blue Palo Verde and Black Locust line the parking lot and frame the retail shops. The ground plane is made up of plants with a rich variety of color, texture, and forms. Foxtail Agave adds sculptural interest while Red Yucca and Yellow Kangaroo Paw punctuate massing’s of Blue Gamma Grass with both height and color.
